The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office will team up with Special Olympics Oregon for the 30th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, scheduled for July 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Oswego High School.
This year multiple law enforcement agencies will walk and run a six mile course ending at Cook Park in Tigard.
The run will begin promptly at 10 a.m. at Lake Oswego High School.
Deputies will join law enforcement officers from around the state in carrying the torch around Oregon to its final destination at Newberg High School on July 9 for the Special Olympics Oregon Summer State Games.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a year round campaign in which law enforcement support Special Olympics Oregon athletes by carrying the "Flame of Hope" Torch. Law enforcement supporters attend competitions, participate in medal ceremonies, and raise funds through special events so athletes can participate in the sports they love.
Media is welcome to attend.
