EARLIER (Sunday, June 4, 2017, 9:58 p.m.)
Just before 9 p.m. on June 4, 2017, a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to stop a black Lexus IS 250 for failure to display license plates.
As soon as the deputy initiated the traffic stop, the Lexus failed to pull over and fled the scene.
Deputies pursued the vehicle into the City of Portland before terminating the pursuit due to the reckless and dangerous driving of the suspect, out of concern for the safety of the public.
After deputies had ended the pursuit and deactivated all emergency lights and sirens, they located the suspect vehicle crashed into a house near the intersection of SE 85th Ave. and SE Market St. in Portland.
Deputies arrived at the crash scene and witnessed both occupants of the vehicle fleeing on foot. Both the driver and passenger were quickly apprehended by responding deputies.
The driver was identified as Ramone Rodarte, 22. The female passenger was identified as Sabrina Vasquez, 22.
Deputies and Portland Police Bureau officers were able to verify that none of the occupants of the house were injured as a result of the crash.
Firefighters with Portland Fire & Rescue responded to the scene as a precaution and evaluated all involved parties.
Additionally, deputies on scene were able to determine that the Lexus involved in the chase was a stolen car out of Portland.
Mr. Rodarte is being transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he will be booked on various charges.
At this writing, Ms. Vasquez was released from the scene and was not charged with any crimes.
More details will be released as they become available.
