UPDATE (Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 5:20 PM) -- VICTIM ID; TIPS STILL SOUGHT

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office can now identify the victim as Manuel Montesinos, age 66, from Woodburn, Oregon.

Mr. Montesinos is still hospitalized, and his family does not wish to be contacted so they can focus on Mr. Montesinos' care.

Mr. Montesinos' family and the Sheriff's Office encourages anyone with information about this hit and run to contact the tip line. Tip line information from original release:

Investigators want to hear from anyone with information about vehicles or bicyclists in the area of S Elliott Prairie Rd. in Woodburn between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18 -- as well as any vehicles with fresh, unexplained damage that could be the result of a hit and run.

Additionally, anyone with video surveillance systems in the area of the crash are asked to call the Sheriff's Office right away.

EARLIER (Friday, August 18, 2017)

Victim bicycleOn Friday, August 18, 2017 at about 7:31 PM, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Patrol deputies responded to calls of an injury hit-and-run crash near the 4000 block of S Elliott Prairie Rd. in unincorporated Woodburn.

Callers reported that a male had been hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle and he was seriously injured. The vehicle involved in the crash had fled the scene prior to the first 911 caller arriving on scene.

Deputies arrived with fire and medical personnel and rendered aid to the victim. The victim was eventually transported by Life Flight to OHSU.

Currently, members of the Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit (HVCU) and the Criminal Reconstruction and Forensics Team (CRAFT) are working to investigate the crash.

At this time, investigators have recovered evidence on scene left by the suspect vehicle.
