UPDATE (November 1, 2017, 3:52 p.m.) -- SUBJECT FOUND ALIVE
Mr. Benim was located by USFS personnel west of the search area.
Mr. Benim is reportedly in "okay" condition. At this writing (November 1, 2017, 3:52 p.m.) he is being led to his family and friends.
EARLIER (Tuesday, October 31, 2017, 5:23 a.m.) -- Sheriff's Office conducts search for a lost hunter near Hideaway Lake
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is conducting a search for Nicholas David Benim, 34, of Molalla, in the area of Hideaway Lake near Estacada, OR.
At approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 , the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a lost hunter. Search and Rescue Coordinators with the Sheriff's Office responded and began the search effort.
Benim was last seen on Sunday, October 29 around 5 p.m. when he left his group. He was expected to return a few hours later.
Benim was wearing a bright-orange jacket and tan Carhartt-style pants when he left. He also had a backpack in his possession.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is coordinating efforts from Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, the U.S. Forest Service, Mountain Wave Emergency Communications and Mountain Wave K9.
