Call for Presenters

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 21st Annual Child Abuse & Family Violence Summit, set for April 21-24, 2020.

Apply online to present at the 2020 Summit

The Summit is looking for 1.5-hour or 3-hour proposals and a select number of 60-minute keynote proposals. Please indicate multi-session or all-day sessions in your abstract.

Submissions are reviewed by a speaker selection committee, based on the following criteria:

  1. Overall quality of proposal
  2. Relevant topic within the scope of conference
  3. Significant evidence-based research
  4. Presenter qualifications

We are seeking workshop proposals in the following content areas:

  • Case studies
  • Collaboration and integration of services across multiple systems
  • Evidence-based practices
  • Collaboration and integration of services across multiple systems
  • Family justice
  • Improving response efforts
  • Law enforcement investigations related to child abuse
  • Law enforcement investigations related to domestic violence
  • Law enforcement investigations related to human trafficking
  • Law enforcement labs
  • Program development and sustainability
  • Providing services and outreach in the digital age
  • Research to practice
  • School threat assessment
  • Strategies for reducing bias and stigma
  • Supports for special populations
  • Trauma informed advocacy
  • Trauma informed care
  • Wellness and self-care
  • Youth suicide
  • Other topics related to child abuse and family violence

Speaker Payment

Requests for payment will be considered. However, due to our limited budget, which is monitored by our Board of Commissioners, honorariums and speaking fees are rarely offered. Thank you for your understanding.

The Summit provides:

  • Free registration for the conference
  • Hospitality suite (Tuesday-Friday) — breakfast, lunch and light refreshments

The Summit may be able to provide:

  • Economy airfare reimbursement
  • Lodging
  • Reimbursement for transportation up to $50

The Summit is unable to provide:

  • Per diems
  • Airfare baggage fees

Deadlines to remember:

Prior to completing your abstract to present at the conference, please be sure that you will be able to commit to the following expectations and deadlines:

  • October 31, 2019: Call for Presentations Abstract form is due.
  • November 15, 2019: Proposal decisions will be made on or before this date and presenters will be notified via e-mail.
  • February 1, 2020: Accepted presenters and co-presenters must be registered for the conference.
  • March 1, 2020: Presenters are responsible for uploading electronic PDF handouts to the conference app (or emailing them to jbitz@clackamas.us) so they can be made available to conference attendees via the conference app.
