Lunch break is a great time for a hike, but locating nearby parks that offer wooded trails and beautiful views are often difficult to find (but not impossible). If you are looking for a great lunch time hike, check out Camassia Natural Area.
The park offers a loop trail with numbered signs to highlight certain landmarks and species of plant life. The park contains over 300 plant species to include the rare white rock larkspur, which currently occurs in only seven places worldwide.
It takes about 10 minutes to reach the park from the Red Soils Campus by car, and the loop is about a 15 - 20 minute walk. Public parking and entry to the trails can be found at 4799 Walnut St, West Linn. This is a nature preserve, so please don’t bring your dogs.
