In early 2021, heavy rains and strong winds toppled trees, causing the slope to collapse next to Rugg Road near the Hideaway Court intersection in the Boring area. A retaining wall will be built at this location.
Temporary protective sheeting and plant seeding are in place until permanent repairs are constructed.

Why
To stabilize the slope next to Rugg Road.
Schedule
After receiving construction proposals much higher than our engineering estimates, we intend to advertise the project for construction bids in the spring. We will update the construction schedule as we have more information.
- Design: March 2021 - March 2022
- Construction: Spring 2024 - Fall 2024
Traffic impacts
Single-lane closures will be needed during construction. A temporary road closure is anticipated for 3–4 weeks to build the wall.
