Major Crimes Team, DA's Office lead investigation following Apr. 24 officer-involved shooting

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office NewsShortly before 11 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 24, 2023, Portland Police officers and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies were involved in a shooting after a pursuit of a suspect believed to be involved in a Portland homicide ended near the 11000 block of SE 82nd Avenue in unincorporated Clackamas County.

Lifesaving measures were administered; however, the suspect died at the scene.

The involved Portland Police officers and Clackamas County deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave, according to each agency’s policies.

In accordance with standard protocol, the investigation is being led by the Clackamas County Interagency Major Crimes Team in collaboration with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office. Detectives from the Oregon City and Milwaukie Police Departments are leading the Major Crimes Team’s investigation, with assistance from Lake Oswego, Molalla, and Sandy Police detectives.

SE 82nd Avenue between SE Causey Avenue and SE Monterey Avenue will be closed for several hours while the investigation is being conducted.
