UPDATE (Friday, March 4): Identity of man killed in SE 90th Avenue homicide; tips still sought

The victim killed in the Feb. 27, 2022 shooting on SE 90th Avenue can now be identified as Ricky Wayne Cotten, 38, of Clackamas.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined the victim died of homicide by gunshot wound.

Mr. Cotten’s family provided the attached photo for media release and is asking for privacy at this time.

This remains an active homicide investigation. Detectives continue to seek tips from the public that can aid in the ongoing investigation, identification of suspect(s), and arrest of the suspect(s), who remain at large.

EARLIER (Feb. 28, 2022): Sheriff's Office investigating SE 90th Avenue homicide; suspect at large; tips sought

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting on SE 90th Avenue near SE Monterey Avenue, in unincorporated Clackamas County.

Responding deputies arrived and located an adult male shooting victim. Deputies and Clackamas Fire paramedics attempted life-saving measures; unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

Sheriff's Office detectives, Crime Scene Investigators (CSI), Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT), the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office responded and are assisting with the investigation.

TIPS SOUGHT: Detectives are seeking tips from the public that can aid in the ongoing investigation, identification of suspect(s), and arrest of the suspect(s), who remain at large.
