Suspect in Armed Robbery Arrested; Police Officer Injured

On July 10, 2023, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an armed robbery call at a car dealership in the 14000 block of SE McLoughlin Blvd in unincorporated Clackamas County, near Milwaukie. Deputies attempted to located the suspect in the stolen vehicle, a 2009 white Ford Ranger. The truck was reported to have front and rear end damage after hitting several other cars in the parking lot.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., with the help of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit and the Milwaukie Police Department, the suspect vehicle was located. Spike strips were deployed and deputies eventually stopped the vehicle using a PIT maneuver on Hwy 224 near SE Freeman Way. In the course of the pursuit, a Milwaukie Police Officer was injured after being hit by a Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The armed robbery suspect was arrested at the scene.

The crash investigation will be led by the Oregon State Police.
