UPDATE (November 9, 2023): Sheriff’s Office Identifies Victims in Shooting Near Estacada

Family notifications are now complete, and the two victims in the November 6, 2023 shooting near Estacada can now be identified:

  • Emily Rose Taylor, age 19, of Mulino, was declared deceased at the scene.
  • Jacob Allen Cutts, age 30, of Estacada, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this shooting or anyone who has information that may be helpful for investigators.

EARLIER (November 7, 2023): Sheriff’s Office Investigates Shooting near Estacada

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another person injured. On Monday, November 6, 2023, at approximately 10:50 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Highway 211 near South Poplar Road, outside the City of Estacada.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 30-year-old man had been shot in the hand. A second person, a 19-year-old woman, had been fatally shot. Both had been traveling southbound on Highway 211 in a red Jeep Cherokee.

Detectives believe the suspects driving a silver Toyota Corolla or Camry with unknown Oregon plates fired several shots at the victims while traveling in the same direction on Highway 211.

Multiple deputies responded to the location and attempted to locate the suspects. The surviving victim was provided medical aid at the scene and was transported to a local hospital.

Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this shooting or anyone who has information that may be helpful for investigators.
