Captain Micah Shelton from Fire Station #3 gave an overview and of activity in the neighborhood. He addressed fire concerns for the fire season which has already begun. Open burning is allowed in rural areas before and after the fire season as declared by the Fire Department. There was a question about unincorporated areas like Oak Grove that are urban but not cities. Captain Shelton was uncertain but said he would get a message back to the OGCC.

A Panel discussion: How Does Our Local Government Work; Four participants, Mitra A., Joseph Edge, Commissioner Paul Savas, and Craig Van Valkenberg answered questions about government process and decision making for the Oak Grove area. Some concerns raised included: The need for more accessibility to county meetings e.g. evening times and local forums. The difficulty for development and collaboration when meetings remain online where relationships cannot be built as easily, more opportunities for leadership development in the local area. Committee Reports / Announcements; More volunteers for the OGCC booth at the Oak Grove Festival are needed. Members are encouraged to attend and enjoy the festival coming Saturday June 28.

The meeting ended at 8:45.
