Restoring Backyard Watersheds Workshop

Start Date
End Date

Join the North Clackamas Watersheds Council and learn to propagate native plants from seed! Learn:

  • When and how to harvest stakes from native shrubs and trees at the right time
  • Guidelines for ethical and ecologically responsible plant collection
  • Tips on when and where to plant successfully and for the best habitat benefits

Participants will get hands-on experience with tools and techniques used by professional restoration practitioners and community stewards.

The Restoring Backyard Watersheds Workshop series is designed to help residential property owners, community organizations, and restoration volunteers develop their restoration skills, watershed knowledge, and to foster a sense of community among watershed fans in the North Clackamas area. Each workshop is unique, but generally they include a brief discussion on regional watershed geography, tips on how to sustainably steward our local rivers and streams, followed by a field session on seasonal techniques to manage and maintain streamside natural areas.
