On Aug. 18, #ClackCo Deputy District Attorney Alex Hayes was honored as the Oregon District Attorneys Association’s Wildlife Prosecutor of the Year. The award is given in partnership with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon State Police’s Fish and Wildlife Division, recognizing those who excel with subject matter expertise, communication with partner agencies, and legal advocacy, and who demonstrate a commitment to preserving Oregon’s natural resources.

“We cannot be more proud of Alex’s commitment to preserving Oregon’s wildlife, and his hard work and dedication to those who live, work and play in Clackamas County,” said #ClackCo District Attorney John Wentworth.

Alex is a 2018 graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law and was hired by the District Attorney's Office shortly thereafter. He is the first #ClackCo employee to be recognized with the award. We caught up with Alex years ago as part of our "Why I Became a Prosecutor" series, which you can view below. Congrats, Alex!
