Swearing-in ceremony for elected #ClackCo officials set for Jan. 18

A swearing-in ceremony for county officials elected this past year will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, in the Board of County Commissioners’ Hearing Room, Public Services Building, 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

The ceremony will air live on the county’s YouTube channel, Facebook page, and television channel (Clackamas County Government Channel).

Six officeholders were elected this past year, and all are expected to attend and take a ceremonial oath of office. Those oaths will be given, and the event will be led, by the Honorable Michael C. Wetzel, Presiding Judge of Clackamas County Circuit Court.

Expected to be in attendance and participating in the ceremony are:

  • Commissioner Paul Savas
  • Commissioner Ben West
  • Assessor Bronson Rueda
  • Clerk Catherine McMullen 
  • Justice of the Peace Karen Brisbin
  • Treasurer Brian Nava

There are eleven total elected positions at Clackamas County. In addition to the six referenced above, there are three additional commissioner positions, as well as District Attorney and County Sheriff. The swearing-in event is ceremonial in nature, as elected officials are sworn in prior.
