Diana Helm has been appointed as Clackamas County Commissioner, Position #4.
Helm previously served as the Mayor of Damascus, a city that disincorporated several years ago.
The four members of the Board of County Commissioners made the appointment.
Fifty-nine candidates applied for the vacancy during a recruitment that closed last month. Five candidates were selected for further consideration, and interviewed today before the Board of County Commissioners. Those interviews and the subsequent deliberation/appointment were livestreamed on the county’s YouTube channel.
Helm will serve in the role through December 2026. An election for the rest of the term of Position #4 (January 2027 – December 2028) will be held next year.
