Family floating down the river wearing life jacketsAs temperatures rise in June, it's the perfect time to cool off with a float down the Clackamas River. But don’t be fooled. While the sun is hot, the river water remains cold and can pose real risks. Be sure to wear a properly fitted personal flotation device (PFD), stay sober since alcohol is prohibited on the river, and pack out all trash to help keep our river clean for everyone.

Planning to launch from Barton or Carver parks? These popular spots fill up quickly. If lots are full, check out alternative river access points and floating options at Mt. Hood Territory's Clackamas River Guide.

Enjoy the river safely and responsibly!
