A man accused of using a stolen excavator to break into a bank ATM and steal cash was arraigned Monday on multiple charges in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
Matthew Evan Armour was charged with Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
Armour, 32, is being held at the Clackamas County Jail on $60,000 bail. He also is being held on a parole violation.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a burglary at the U.S. Bank located at 11521 SE Sunnyside Rd. in Clackamas in the early morning of June 23, 2025.
Deputies found the excavator still running, abandoned near the ATM drive-through. The someone used the excavator's boom arm to destroy the ATM housing and damage the bank building. The suspect or suspects fled the area.
The excavator was stolen from a nearby construction site and driven to the U.S. Bank.
A second man, Kevin Owen Miller, 51, also faces charges in the ATM theft. Miller is in custody in Multnomah County.
