The victims are now 15 and 12. The sexual abuse of the younger child began at the age of three to four years old. Investigators discovered more than 10,000 images of child pornography in Jones’ possession including a video of him having sex with the older victim.

Jones gave a brief statement taking responsibility for his actions. The victims did not attend the sentencing, but their mother and uncle were present and addressed the court. They told the court about the devastating trauma the defendant inflicted on the children who continue to struggle with the aftereffects of Jones’ abuse.

The victims’ mother was aware of the sexual abuse, said Senior Deputy District Attorney Rusty Amos, who prosecuted the case. She was charged in June 2025 with two counts of Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree. The case against her is pending.
