Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES) was honored with the 2025 Outstanding Member Agency Award by the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies on July 17. This award not only recognizes WES as a leader in the field but also celebrates the exceptional dedication and hard work of its staff across various departments.

The Tri-City Outfall Project received special mention for its remarkable outcomes, exemplifying what can be achieved when a long-term vision is paired with effective community partnerships and technical expertise. This project not only enhanced the operational capabilities of the Tri-City Water Resource Recovery Facility but also strengthened community relations, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving the goal of clean water for all.

This distinction also underscores WES's strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in several key areas, including planning, procurement, permitting, public involvement, and project delivery.

"This recognition reflects the dedication, performance, and reputation that the WES team has established with our customers and among our peers," said Greg Geist, WES Director. "Our staff takes great pride in their work protecting and supporting public health, ensuring clean water, and fostering economic vitality in the communities we serve."

About The Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies (ACWA)

The Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies (ACWA) is a private, not-for-profit organization that serves Oregon wastewater treatment and stormwater management agencies and their consultants. Starting in 1987, ACWA is a strong voice for public water quality agencies throughout Oregon and nationally. Through education, regulatory advocacy, and partnerships for the development of proactive solutions, we support Oregon communities in building water resources management that is environmentally, financially, and organizationally sustainable. Currently, over 126 wastewater treatment and stormwater management agencies, along with associated professionals, are ACWA members. ACWA members routinely represent public agency wastewater and stormwater interests on work groups, DEQ Advisory Committees, and Federal Advisory Committees.
