Clackamas County Elections Opens Filing for the Justice of the Peace
Oregon City, OR – Clackamas County Elections opened the filing period for the Justice of the Peace position upon notification of the planned retirement of Judge Karen Brisbin on January 1, 2026. This judicial vacancy will first be filled with an appointment by Governor Kotek until election in 2026.
The Justice of the Peace position will appear on the May Primary Election ballot and the November General Election ballot, regardless of how many candidates file for the position. This position will be elected in the November General Election and serve for a full six-year term.
