Clackamas County is investing in its tourism economy by launching a new, one-time Tourism Business Grant Program, providing $1 million in grant funding to support tourism-related businesses across the county. Applications are open May 14 through June 18.
Administered by Clackamas County’s Office of Economic Development and funded through Transient Lodging Tax dollars allocated by the County’s Office of Tourism, the program was created to address a long-standing challenge for the tourism industry: securing long-term investments in business growth. For tourism businesses, whether a tour operator, lodging provider, attraction, or hospitality-related service, traditional grant opportunities are few and far between. This program was designed to help fill that gap.
Two Ways to Apply
The program offers two distinct funding tracks, with $500,000 available in each track:
- Small Business Acceleration Track: supporting capital investments, physical improvements, or workforce development projects to help small businesses reach the next level.
- Technical & Professional Services Track: supporting more established businesses with projects that require specialized expertise to remove barriers to business growth.
Who Should Apply
If you own or operate a tourism-related business located in Clackamas County, you may be eligible. Applications will be reviewed using clear, documented criteria, and formal grant agreements will be required for all awards. While not all applicants will receive funding, all applicants will receive clear communication about eligibility and funding decisions.
