Voter Turnout Reaches a Remarkable 44.66% for the May 19, 2026 Primary Election

Oregon City, OR – On Wednesday afternoon, Clackamas County Elections had received 142,355 ballots, with voter turnout reaching a high of 44.66% for the May 19, 2026 Primary Election. As of the unofficial election results release on Wednesday, May 20 at 5:00 p.m., Clackamas County Elections had tallied 117,816 ballots.

“Every election matters, especially local elections,” Clerk Catherine McMullen said. “Turnout has been remarkable in Clackamas County, we received more than 46,500 ballots on Election Day alone – in fact we look to be on track to have the highest turnout rate for a gubernatorial primary since Oregonians voted to expand Vote-by-Mail to all elections in 1998.”  

Note, the May 2002 gubernatorial primary had a final turnout of 44.05% in Clackamas County.

Unofficial election results, along with the full schedule for their release, are available online at clackamas.us/elections. The next unofficial election results release will be on Thursday, May 22 at 5:00 p.m. Final official results will be certified on June 15.
