OREGON CITY, Or. -- The path that led Antonio Joseph Marion White to prison began on a May morning with a rock and a flock of geese.
White was with his father and brother at Riverside Park, 17207 SE Water Ave., on May 16, 2026 when he and his brother started chucking rocks at geese that congregate at the Clackamas River park.
A man who belongs to the Happy Hippie Dippies – a group that regularly goes to the river to take a cold plunge -- told White and his companions to stop and a shouting match ensued. Then White and his brother began throwing rocks at the bathers.
White went to his vehicle, returned with a knife and threatened the man. White was so enraged that his father and brother had to physically restrain him. The man he threatened informed White that he had a concealed handgun license and pulled out a gun as another of the Hippie Dippies called 911.
White fled the scene. He was arrested later that day at a different Clackamas River park.
White told Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies that he was pelting the geese with rocks because he had PTSD after being attacked by a goose in the past.
White, 36, was convicted by a Clackamas County Circuit Court jury last week of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. He was sentenced Monday to 35 months in prison.
White has 11 convictions for assault in Clark County Washington and convictions there for theft and child molestation.
Deputy District Attorney Brian Powell prosecuted the case.
