Clackamas County Elections Opens Filing for the Justice of the Peace
Oregon City, OR – Clackamas County Elections opened the filing period for the Justice of the Peace position upon notification of the planned retirement of Judge Karen Brisbin on January 1, 2026. This judicial vacancy will first be filled with an appointment by Governor Kotek until election in 2026.

OREGON CITY, Or. -- A Wilsonville man who shot his ex-girlfriend during an argument last year was sentenced Monday to 90 months in prison.
Brandon Edyl Arroyo, 42, pled guilty on Dec. 8 in Clackamas County Circuit Court to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Ninety months is the presumptive sentence under Ballot Measure 11 for Attempted Murder.
On Dec. 30, 2024, around 7:58 p.m., law enforcement responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex at 26300 SW Canyon Creek Road in Wilsonville.

A Clackamas County jury found Michel Fournier guilty Thursday of murdering his wife in 2024 shortly after she filed for divorce.
Fournier, 72, was convicted on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon after an eight-day trial in Clackamas County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
Fournier murdered his estranged wife, Susan Marie Lane, 61, at their Brightwood home on Nov. 22, 2024, shooting her in the head, neck and chest with a .22-caliber rifle.

Four people who beat and robbed an Oak Grove grocery store manager in February pleaded guilty in Clackamas County Circuit Court for their roles in the attack and were sentenced to prison.
