Salmon Watch Volunteer Training

Are you looking to get outside, explore our region’s unique landscapes, and connect with your community? Do you want to help inspire the next generation of environmental stewards?

Salmon Watch field trips are engaging, hands-on outdoor learning experiences where middle and high school students explore salmon and their ecosystems. As a volunteer, you will help lead a small-group learning station, guide students in scientific observation, and share your passion for the natural world.

Restoring Your Watershed Workshop

Learn how to maintain your riparian buffer after North Clackamas Watersheds Council completes restoration. Watershed Restoration Manager, Amy Van Riessen, will discuss the unique ecology of Parmenter Ponds and her research monitoring stream temperature for native fish.

David Powell from Mosaic Ecology will also share insight on promoting healthy streams through restoration, removing invasives and encouraging native plant growth.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their watershed questions and to get their hands dirty practicing restoration techniques!
