Libraries in Clackamas County announce winner of teen art contest

Kaitlyn Keller's artworkThe Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) are thrilled to announce that Milwaukie 11th grader Kaitlyn Keller is the winner of the ninth annual Teen Summer Reading Artwork Contest. Kaitlyn’s piece exemplified this year’s theme, Read, Renew, Repeat! 

In addition to winning a $100 cash gift card, Keller’s original artwork may be featured in LINCC’s Summer Reading Program materials. 

Violet Struckmeier, an 11th grader from Happy Valley, won honorable mention and will receive a $25 cash gift card. 

“We received entries from across Clackamas County, reflecting the incredible talent and creativity in our communities,” said Lisa Taylor, Youth Services Librarian at Happy Valley Public Library." 

Congratulations to Kaitlyn for her bold and sophisticated winning design and to our honorable mention, Violet! Our website will feature the winning artwork as well as all the entries. Be sure to check out this diverse array of art from teens in Clackamas County!

This summer, LINCC will again offer its summer reading programs for children and teens at all 13 libraries in the county. There will be many enjoyable activities, including fun in the park, after-hours teen events, puppet shows, jugglers, game nights, and outdoor concerts Programs and prizes will vary by library.
