Financial Mediation Training

Dates: February 24 – 26; March 10 – 12, 2026
Location: Online
Times: 8 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. 
Cost: $1,250
Prerequisite: Must have completed a Basic Mediation Training of at least 30 hours.

Designed for professional development, this course is for mediation practitioners who want to qualify as a Domestic Relations Family Law Financial Mediator under Oregon’s Uniform Trial Court Rule, Chapter 12.

This highly interactive course teaches students to mediate legal and financial issues in separation, divorce, and family reorganization in Oregon. Attendees will learn through lecture, interactive exercises, and role-plays coached by skilled and experienced mediation practitioners.

Topics include:

  • Child support;
  • Spousal support;
  • Taxes, including dependent deductions;
  • Medical insurance and cash medical;
  • Property allocation;
  • Real estate considerations;
  • Retirement plans, valuation, and QDROs;
  • Business interests;
  • Investment and debt allocation;
  • Equalization payments

Custody and Parenting Time Mediation Training

Dates: October, 2026  (to get notice of upcoming trainings, join our waiting list below) 
Location: Oregon City, OR
Cost: $1,250 

This highly interactive course teaches students to mediate custody and parenting issues in separation, divorce, and family reorganization in Oregon. Attendees will learn through lecture, interactive exercises, and role-plays coached by skilled and experienced mediation practitioners.

Topics include:

  • General family mediation knowledge and skills
  • Safety before, after, and during mediation
  • Apply trauma informed practices
  • Respond to ethical concerns
  • Memorialize agreements reached
  • Developing a parenting plan
  • Domestic violence
  • Mental health issues
  • Substance use and recovery
  • Long distance parenting plans
  • Disabilities of parents and/or children

Pre-requisite: Must have attended a Basic Mediation training of at least 30 hours.

This course satisfies the educational requirements to become a Court-Connected Family Law Custody and Parenting Mediator in the state of Oregon.
