Why Sign Up?

The PublicAlerts system automatically includes traditional landline telephone numbers from phone company records. To receive alerts on any of the following, you must sign up:

  • Cell phones
  • Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phones
  • Email addresses
  • TTY/TDD devices

You can register multiple locations, such as your home, workplace, school, or a family member's address. You will only receive notifications when an emergency affects one of the locations you have selected.

How Notifications Are Delivered

Depending on the emergency, alerts may be sent by:

  • Voice call
  • Text message
  • Email
  • TTY/TDD devices
  • Fax
  • Everbridge Mobile App

If a call reaches your voicemail or answering machine, a message will be left. The system may attempt other contact methods if a call is not answered. Once you confirm receipt on one device, notifications to your other devices may stop.
