The LINCC Educator Card is a free library card designed to support teachers and educators who work with children and teens. It helps you borrow more materials for longer periods to use in classrooms and educational programs.
Benefits
With an Educator Card, you can:
- Check out up to 80 items at a time
- Keep items for 6 weeks
- Renew items up to 3 times
- Place up to 40 holds
- Pay no overdue fines (lost or damaged items still apply)
This card is separate from your personal library card. Each educator may have one Educator Card.
Who Can Apply
You are eligible if you:
- Work as a teacher or educator in:
- Childcare
- Kindergarten–12th grade
- Homeschool education
- After-school programs (such as YMCA, Camp Fire, Boys & Girls Clubs)
- Are responsible for planning and providing educational activities for youth
- Live or teach in the LINCC service area
- Have a personal LINCC card in good standing (no more than $25 in fines)
Not eligible: volunteers, tutors, office staff, cafeteria staff, janitorial staff, or homeschool parents using online programs who do not plan curriculum.
How to Get a Card
Visit any LINCC library in person with:
- A valid photo ID
- Proof of current educator status, such as:
- School or childcare ID
- Pay stub
- Letter from a school administrator or childcare director
- Homeschool letter from your local Education Service District (ESD)
- Oregon Child Care Division certification
Important Policies
- Items must be returned or renewed by the due date.
- Items more than 45 days overdue are marked lost and billed.
- You are responsible for all lost or damaged items.
- Accounts with over $25 in charges will be blocked.
- Your balance must be $0 to renew for the next school year.
Educator Cards cannot be used for:
- E-books or digital audiobooks
- Subscription databases
- Lucky Day items
- Library of Things items
- Cultural passes
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
(These items may be borrowed using your personal library card.)
Renewal
- Cards expire June 30 each year.
- Renew in person after July 1 with photo ID and proof of current educator status.
- Your account balance must be $0 to renew.
