Library District Task Force

On Jan. 29, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners approved the creation of a Library District Task Force. This limited-duration task force will make recommendations to the Board on a number of library issues in the broad categories of service, funding, and governance. A full list of topics identified for discussion and additional background can be found online. The task force is expected to conclude its work in approximately six months.

The task force has been structured to maximize geographic representation. Particular consideration was given to having members from different jurisdictions, including urban and rural representation. Throughout this process, representatives are encouraged to represent their seat rather than their individual jurisdiction, and to communicate with peers between meetings to incorporate the broadest possible perspectives.
