Meeting Called to Order
A quorum (majority) was present. The meeting was called to order at 10:04 AM.
Review and Adoption of Minutes
Approval of the June minutes was postponed.
Full Membership Introduction
All members, staff, and guests introduced themselves following the summer recess.
Member Orientation
Jeanie provided an overview of the Social Services Division organizational chart and program areas.
Jennifer provided an overview of the Community Action Agency, its impact on funding, and a brief description of the Community Action Board (CAB).
- ASAC members requested an invitation to the next CAB meeting.
- Sean will send the invitation to ASAC members.
There was discussion regarding the Utility Support Program and how it interacts with other Clackamas County utilities, including Water Environment Services (WES).
Members also expressed interest in having the Veterans Service Office present at a future meeting.
Area Plan Review
The Area Plan review was postponed due to lack of time.
Executive Committee Bylaw Updates
Dan discussed the possibility of the Executive Committee reviewing the bylaws and asked for volunteers to assist.
- Jim volunteered.
- Joyce was invited to participate as the new Community Center Liaison.
Behavioral Health Subcommittee Progress Report
Anne provided an update on the Behavioral Health Subcommittee.
The subcommittee's first project is creating an asset map of behavioral health resources in Clackamas County.
- The initial step is cataloging available resources at Clackamas County Community Centers.
- A script for conducting interviews is being developed.
- Subcommittee members have been assigned Community Centers to interview.
Adult Community Center Visit Update
Marge reported that she and Joyce are meeting to transition the Community Center Liaison role to Joyce.
She noted the need for increased ASAC member involvement in future visits.
Joyce shared that she will be meeting with Jeanie, Dan, and Tracy. After that meeting, she will reach out to ASAC members to discuss ways to increase member involvement.
Member Updates
- Jeannie shared information about an upcoming event hosted by the Aspen Meadow Band.
- Jim referenced Episode 166 of the podcast People I Mostly Admire regarding the state of vaccines in America.
- Joyce noted that Oregon, Washington, California, and Hawaii have created their own vaccine recommendation boards in lieu of the federal government.
