On July 31, the Metro Council unanimously approved $12.5 million in funding for the Sunrise Gateway Corridor project.
The funding allows Clackamas County and its partners to complete the environmental review for the entire project and move ahead with engineering design for the Local Connections and Safety stage, between 135th and 152nd avenues.
Clackamas County’s Department of Transportation and Development will continue working with Metro and the Oregon Department of Transportation to put agreements in place and begin the next phase of work.
Community input has played a key role in shaping the project, and county leaders noted their appreciation for the testimony and support that helped secure this funding.
