OREGON CITY, Or. -- A Molalla man who is a registered sex offender was convicted Monday of sexually abusing a girl for more than a year.
A Clackamas County Circuit Court jury found Colby Alen Greer, 32, guilty on six counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and two counts of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree.
Greer will be sentenced Dec. 4. He faces a minimum sentence of 25 years.
In March 2022, the victim told a relative that Greer began molesting her in 2020, at his Molalla home when she was eight to nine years old. The child was an occasional visitor at Greer’s home, where he lived with his parents.
The girl, now 13, said Greer would call her into his bedroom where he would sexually assault her while others in the household were asleep. The girl said the abuse occurred on numerous occasions.
The Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree convictions are subject to Jessica’s Law, an Oregon law that requires a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence for adults who are convicted of raping, sodomizing or sexually penetrating a child under the age of 12 years old.
Greer was convicted in 2015 in Clatsop County of Attempted Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the Second Degree. The victim in that case was a 13-year-old girl. Greer was sentenced to 60 days in jail, 36 months of probation and required to register as a sex offender. Other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
