OREGON CITY, Or. -- Bryan Andrew Moore, 38, was arraigned Monday, June 8, in Clackamas County Circuit Court on a 17-count grand jury indictment charging him with the murder of three people, a shoot-out with police and related crimes.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and gunshots May 31 at a residence Moore shared with Jenna Mary Overson in Sandy, Oregon. The couple had a three-year-old son who lived with them.

During the incident, Moore barricaded himself in his home and repeatedly shot at police.

Moore, 38, was formally charged with three counts of Murder in the First Degree in the deaths Jenna Overson, 37, her mother, Mary Beth Overson, 70, and Kobyn McClure, 16, and Attempted Aggravated Murder and Assault in the First Degree involving Sandy Police Department Sergeant Garrett Thornton. Sergeant Thornton was seriously wounded during the confrontation and is recovering from his injuries.

McClure was shot at a nearby residence and had no known relationship to Moore.

Moore was charged with five additional counts of Attempted Aggravated Murder for firing at another Sandy police officer and four Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies.

In addition, Moore was charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.

During the standoff with police, Moore had two people with him -- his three-year-old son and Jordan Schubert, 20, the son of Jenna Overson from a previous relationship. Moore would not let Schubert leave the residence. The child and Schubert were not physically harmed during the incident.

Moore was charged with one count of Coercion and one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person for his actions involving Schubert and the child.

The Grand Jury also determined the officers’ use of deadly physical force against Moore was justified under Oregon law.

Moore is being held without bail at the Clackamas County Jail.
