County Sheriff Vacancy Declared, Filing Period Is Open August 3 to August 25 for Inclusion in the November 3, 2026 General Election

Oregon City, OR – The County Clerk has received notification of an upcoming vacancy in the County Sheriff position effective July 27. 

The County Sheriff position will appear on the November 3, 2026 ballot for a four-year term. The candidate filing period for the position of County Sheriff will open on Monday, Aug. 3 and will close at 5:00 p.m., Aug. 25. Candidates who file for County Sheriff are required to submit a Sheriff Candidate Eligibility Review to the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
