UPDATE (August 18, 2025): Sheriff’s Office identifies man found in Willamette River

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the identity of the man found in the Willamette River on August 14, 2025. According to the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office, the man has been identified as Eric Charles Meszaros, age 30 of Utah.

At this time, detectives do not suspect foul play and believe his death likely occurred shortly after crashing his vehicle on August 10, 2025, near McLoughlin Boulevard and Railroad Avenue in Oregon City.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and seek any tips from the public.

Sheriff’s Office responds to drowning on Molalla River

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Molalla River near Canby Community Park where it was reported that a man had been swimming and went under the water. The Clackamas County Water Rescue Consortium was activated and crews from several agencies, including Canby Police and Canby Fire, responded to the location.

UPDATE (August 12, 2025) Sheriff’s Office identifies August 2nd shooting victim

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the identity of the man shot and killed on August 1, 2025, on SE Easthampton Street in unincorporated Clackamas County. Marc Richard Floyd, age 36 of Eagle Creek, died following a shooting involving his father-in-law. The suspect, David Lynn Jurgenson, remains in the Clackamas County Jail without bail facing charges of Murder in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Recklessly Endangering.
