Sept. 12 First date County candidates can file for office
Sept. 12 Last Day for partisan candidate to register as a member of a major party to satisfy 180 day membership requirement
Feb. 28 Deadline for Special District or County to file Request for Ballot Title with County Elections for publication
March 10 Candidate Filing deadline for County candidates
March 12 Voters' Pamphlet Statement deadline for County candidates
March 19 Measure filing deadline
March 23 Voters' Pamphlet deadline for Measure Arguments and City of Portland Candidates
April 3 Ballots mailed to military and overseas voters
April 20 Ballots mailed to out of state voters
April 28 Voter registration / Party change deadline
April 29 Ballots mailed to voters / Drop Sites open
May 19 Election Day
June 2 Deadline to resolve ballot challenges

Open Positions

Please note: There are some positions that will be up for election in May 2020 for which the Secretary of State is the filing officer, including District Attorney and Judge of the Circuit Court.  For more information on these positions, please contact the Elections Division.

Below is a list of positions for which Clackamas County is the filing officer. The filing period for these positions is from September 12, 2019 until 5pm on March 10, 2020.

Precinct Committee Person (PCP) Information

2020 Precinct Committee Person (PCP) Changes

  • Discontinues filing by gender
  • One PCP for every 250 voters, 2 PCP minimum per precinct.
  • PCP Calculation ran on 9/12/19.
  • Filing begins September 30, 2019
  • Individual can file in their resident precinct, or adjacent precinct, or any precinct in their State Representative district, within the same county.
  • Write-in votes will only be tallied if declaration or nomination forms have been filed by the deadline.
  • A minimum of 3 votes is still required to be elected.

 

There are 3 ways to run for Precinct Committee Person (PCP):

1.  Candidate Filing Form - SEL105

  • Deadline to file: March 10, 2020 5 pm.
  • Member of stated party at least 180 days prior to the filing deadline. (September 12, 2019)
  • Certificate of election will be issued.

2.  Write-in Candidate Declaration - SEL105D

  • Deadline to file: May 19, 2020 8 pm.
  • Member of stated party at least 180 days prior to the primary election. (November 21, 2019)
  • No write-in acceptance form will be issued, as candidate has attested they will serve if elected. Certificate of Election will be issued, if elected.

3.  Write-in Candidate Nomination - SEL105N

  • Deadline to file: May 19, 2020 8 pm.
  • Member of stated party at least 180 days prior to the primary election. (November 21, 2019)
  • Candidate will be sent a write-in acceptance form, if elected. If acceptance form is received by deadline, certificate of election will be issued.
  • Nominator and candidate must be a member of the same party and the same State Representative district, within the same county.
