    Certified SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefit Assistance) Volunteer Counselors will be available to answer questions. Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for a personalized appointment at an Individual Counseling Session.

    This is the time to review your 2019 plan, change your plan, or enroll into a plan if you do not already have one.     Medicare annual enrollment runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2019. Medicare Advantage (MA) or prescription drug plan (Part D) changes must be made between these dates so that coverage begins without interruption on Jan. 1, 2020.

    SHIBA provides objective and free health insurance counseling to explain how the Medicare program works, additional insurance options that work with Medicare, and help with reducing out-of-pocket costs. If you have questions or need assistance with your open enrollment, schedule an appointment.

    Monday to Friday by appointment. Saturday and special appointments or presentations by request. Call 503-655-8269 Option 4 (Monday to Thursday).

    The fourth Wednesday of every month, the Continuum of Care meets in the Clackamas County Public Services Building, Room 255. The groups come together to plan housing and services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Members meet monthly to learn about resources, network, and provide input on the policies guiding the homeless system. This meeting is open to the public.     This four hour course covers firearms safety and defensive use of the handgun. Students will meet the Oregon, Utah, or Utah-Oregon requirements depending on which option is chosen. (The Utah permit allows one to carry in approximately thirty other states including Washington) It will give you a better understanding of the handgun, its safe handling and the law as it applies to its carriage and use in defending yourself.

    This one-day class is the starting point for the Public Safety Training Center's handgun-skills curriculum. It requires no prior handgun knowledge or experience. Understanding the principles of basic firearms safety is emphasized throughout PST 101 in a classroom lecture and on the range. The fundamentals of marksmanship are a focus of the class, in both dry- and live-fire exercises. A legal guardian has to take the class with minors age fifteen - eighteen.

    Classes are scheduled each month on selected Saturdays or Sundays, beginning at 9 a.m. Though completion of this class satisfies the statute requirements for application for an Oregon concealed handgun license, it is strongly recommended that the student seek additional training in Oregon's Use of Force laws, presented in the PST 100 class.

    Course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to adult victim breathing and cardiac emergencies (about 12 years and older). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

    Course duration 4.5 hours.
