Call to Order

  • Bo brought the meeting to order at 4:36pm
  • Introductions
  • Motion to approve June’s meeting minutes, motion passes.

Allie Alexander

  • HD FY 27 Budget Presentation
  • Officially adopted budget for FY27. In effect as of July 1st.
  • Challenges – over reliance on fund balance (fund balance, capital funds), establish reserves (safeguard against further funding reductions), revenue reduction and stagnation, prioritization of forensic services 
  • Changes – Federal Revenue increased via state allocation. 
  • Uptick in allocated costs and indirect within the county – no control from BHD (18% increase) 
  • Program Budget Breakdown – Mobile Crisis Team is the largest cost program 
  • Looking ahead – Q1 Budget Adjustment $40 mil, HR1 Impacts (possible funding shifts in CCO), H3S Organizational Assessment (Focused on admin and operational efficiencies), Service Demands & Personnel

Action/Follow up

  • A slideshow will be attached with the notes 
  • Does BHD have forensic care endorsements for peers? 
  • MHAC members wanted to know if they can pushback on the increase from allocated costs and indirect with the county. Would like transparency since BHD had reductions in staff.

  • Dave – Support with MHC staff on crisis call, informed staff 
  • Adam – New signed contract with American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), can use slide deck for training clinicians. Keep Adam in mind if you know anyone interested. Approved through MHACBO, 12 CEU credits. 
  • Beto – Evidence Base Curriculum supports 15 CEU credits through MHACBO, Instructors training will happen in November.
