April 2025 Minutes: William moved and Patricia seconded. Approved unanimously.

Additional Items to add: Rob & Chris to discuss bylaws changes.

Citizen Concerns: Nathan brought up a concern about Surface Road, where there was a head on crash recently. The road is a narrow road with no shoulders and very little clearance on a specific curve at SE Chrysler Ln. Nathan wondered if there was a way to do a solid double yellow through the curve. ADT is over 600.

Board Seat: Rafael was recommended to the board as a renewal unanimously.

Radar Speed Signs: Mallorie came to review locations to select another six locations for the coming year for the portable speed panels. One change to the procedure this year is to set out a 24-hour tube-count device to determine if there is existing speeding to necessitate a speed sign. Mallorie asked if the committee would like to have a decal added designating the sign as a TSC sign which was received well. Jeanette asked if any of our partners have requested locations to be selected. Ultimately, we selected four locations for Mallorie for next year. One location was on Royer Road, and the team will contact James, former TSC member, to explore this.

TSC Tabling Opportunities: Rob passed around a sign-up sheet for potentially tabling some events during the summer since we are not at the fair this year due to the construction project.

Field Trip Idea: The TSC will hold a field trip in August rather than a regular meeting and we will be visiting the construction of the new roundabout at Stafford and Childs.

Project Updates: Rob shared that the planning project is moving forward. Recently we conducted an internal survey of county employees to help determine how to implement traffic safety across departments. We are also exploring some interesting components related to post- crash care to improve survival rates. The marketing project is in concept stage and Rob shared three concepts developed and the final concept that we are focused around: Safety Drives Us. Essentially, we would show everyday activities that have some risk to the activity. People take precautions in cooking, in fishing, in rock climbing, etc. and you should take safety precautions when you drive. Finally, Rob discussed that we are requesting grant funding to duplicate a campaign called Plan Ahead first developed for the State of Washington. Rob shared the Washington video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzU1-MlSRGQ. We will rebrand at the end for the County but use the same video, no new filming. Ads would be English and Spanish.
