Meeting called to order at 7:05pm.

June 3, 2026 Minutes: Robert made the motion and Will seconded. Approved unanimously.

Additional Items to add: Tricia raised concerns about recent train crashes in Milwaukie. She wanted to know if there were discussions about any upgrades along the route. Carl shared that we are not in any active discussions with the train company or ODOT. Carl offered to discuss it with the Traffic Safety Team and get back to the committee. Simon mentioned that it was a priority for the City of Milwaukie Public Safety Advisory Committee.

Citizen Concerns: No items added.

TSC Officer Elections: The Committee discussed the officer positions that were open, Chair and Vice Chair. Andrew was nominated for Chair and Jeanette was nominated for Vice Chair. Jeanette stated she could only serve through the end of December when her term is up. On the motion, Robert moved Andrew to be chair and Will moved Jeanette to be chair. They were approved unanimously.

Carl Udpates: Carl reviewed the quarterly crash report. He shared that after TSAP is approved we will launch a fatal review team. The committee had some discussions on motorcycle safety along with E-bikes. The Board is developing a policy. Carl also presented on the change in crashes after the McLoughlin Blvd. speed change from 40-35 mph in September 2024. Carl shared that from 2020 to 2024 there were 9 fatal crashes and 9 total fatalities and since the change in speed limits, there have been zero. Keep in mind there were other changes along the corridor including installing rapid flashing beacons.

Transportation Safety Action Plan: Rob reviewed a high-level summary of the proposed Transportation Safety Action Plan. After the presentation and some discussion, the TSC approved recommending approval of the TSAP to the Board of Commissioners. Robert made the motion and Will seconded and the committee approved the motion unanimously. 

Updates: Rob gave an update on the video campaigns which recently ran. He also asked for volunteers for the Hilltop Fair. If you are interested in joining Rob at this event, let him know. Marchelle volunteered. He also handed out some homework to review between now and the October meeting (see attached). Please review and be ready to dive and discuss.
