Dear Advisory Board Members,

Clackamas County will be conducting a countywide review of advisory board bylaws in the coming months to help ensure boards are well supported and positioned to do their best work.

Bylaws guide how boards operate, recruit members, and provide advice to the County. Over time, bylaws canbecome outdated as programs, laws, and community needs evolve. This effort is intended to clarify roles andexpectations, promote consistency where helpful, and support effective recruitment and continuity for boards.

Over the next six months, County staff will begin reviewing existing bylaws and transitioning them to a new templatedesigned to provide clearer structure while allowing each board to reflect its specific purpose.

As part of this process, any proposed updates will be shared with each advisory board for discussion before being finalized. Additional information about timing and next steps will be shared soon.
