Get ready to recycle more! A new RecycleOn Center is opening on Aug.18, 2026 at KB Recycling in Clackamas County as part of Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act, which is expanding recycling opportunities across the state. This free, convenient drop-off site will help residents recycle materials that do not belong in home recycling carts, helping ensure these valuable materials stay out of the landfill.
What to Recycle

Some materials are difficult for recycling facilities to sort and can create dangerous conditions for workers who must manually remove them. For example, plastic bags can jam recycling facility machines, shredded paper is too small for machines to sort, and lids and package handles are flat like paper and can therefore get sorted improperly.
Now, there’s an easy solution right here in our community. At the RecycleOn Center, residents will be able to recycle the following items that aren’t accepted in home or work recycle bins:
- Shredded paper (in a rolled or stapled paper bag)
- Plastic lids and caps
- Rigid plastic package handles (e.g. 6-pack handles)
- Plastic buckets and pails
- Aluminum foil and trays
- Empty, dry plastic bags and stretchy plastic
For additional information and resources on RecycleOn Centers, and to check which items are accepted, visit the RecycleOn Oregon Centers webpage.
Note: Some of the items listed above are accepted in home and work recycling bins with proper preparation. For a full list of what you can recycle at home and work, visit the Clackamas County Recycle Guide webpage.
