Reminder: March 10 is the Last Day a County Candidate (Other Than Elected Incumbents) Can File for Office.

The filing deadline for an elected incumbent seeking reelection is today, March 3.

Oregon City, OR – The next election in Clackamas County is the May 19, 2026 Primary Election. This election includes measures and candidate contests for county and federal, state, and judicial positions. Candidates interested in running for any of these positions must file by the deadline.

Candidates may file to run at Clackamas County Elections for the following contests:

  • County Commissioner, Position 2
  • County Commissioner, Position 4 (2 Year Unexpired Term)
  • County Commissioner, Position 5
  • County Assessor
  • County Clerk
  • County Treasurer
  • Justice of the Peace

The candidate filing deadline for county elected incumbents seeking reelection is today, March 3. For all other candidates the filing deadline is Tuesday, March 10. Candidates must file by 5 p.m. on the filing deadline. 

House Bill 4024 (2024) Section 17b changed the candidate filing deadline for incumbent public office holders. An incumbent seeking re-election for the same office must file their declaration of candidacy or nominating petition at least seven days before the applicable filing deadline for other candidates.

The County Voters’ Pamphlet submission deadline is 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

The Voter Registration and Party Choice Deadline is April 28. You can register to vote, update your voter registration or choose a political party at oregonvotes.gov or fill out a paper Oregon Voter Registration Card. Oregon has closed party primary elections. If you wish to participate in the major party nominating process and vote for either the Democratic or Republican Party candidates in the primary election, you must register with one of the two parties by the deadline. 

Clackamas County Elections will mail ballots to voters starting April 29. If you do not receive your ballot by mail delivery May 7 please contact Clackamas County Elections.
