NEW - March 3, 2026: Last day a candidate that is an elected incumbent seeking re-election can file a declaration of candidacy or a nominating petition with Clackamas County Elections. House Bill 4024 (2024) Section 17b changed the candidate filing deadline for incumbent public office holders. An incumbent seeking re-election for the same office must file their declaration of candidacy or nominating petition at least seven days before the applicable filing deadline for other candidates.

March 10, 2026: Last day a candidate (other than elected incumbents) can file a declaration of candidacy or a nominating petition with Clackamas County Elections.

Below is a list of positions for which Clackamas County is the filing officer. The filing period for these positions is from September 11, 2025 until 5 p.m. on March 10, 2026.

May 19, 2026The Clackamas County Elections Oregon City office is open 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Ballots must be mailed back with a valid postmark on or before Election Day or returned to an Official Ballot Drop Site before 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Information for Precinct Committeeperson (PCP) Positions

2026 Precinct Committeeperson (PCP) Positions

  • One PCP for every 250 voters, 2 PCP minimum per precinct.
  • PCP Calculation Report for each precinct.
  • Filing begins September 11, 2025.
  • Individuals can file in their resident precinct, or adjacent precinct, or any precinct in their State Representative district, within the same county.
  • Recent changes to party membership requirements for candidates who will turn 18 after the filing deadline and individuals who obtain U.S. Citizenship by the filing deadline.*
  • Write-in votes will only be tallied if declaration or nomination forms have been filed by the deadline.
  • A minimum of 3 votes is required to be elected.

 

How to file for Precinct Committeeperson (PCP)

To confirm the precinct that you live in, you can view the precinct map. Precincts may have changed.

There are 3 ways to run for Precinct Committeeperson (PCP):

1.  Candidate Filing Form - SEL105 or Online Filing

  • Deadline to file: March 10, 2026 at 5 p.m.
  • Candidate must be registered in the stated party by September 11, 2025 (180 days prior to the filing deadline.)*
  • Certificate of election will be issued.

2.  Write-in Candidate Declaration Form - SEL105D or Online Filing

  • Deadline to file: May 19, 2026 at 8 p.m.
  • Candidate must be registered in the stated party by November 20, 2025 (180 days prior to the primary election.)*
  • No write-in acceptance form will be issued, as candidate has attested they will serve if elected. Certificate of Election will be issued, if elected.

3.  Write-in Candidate Nomination Form - SEL105N or Online Filing

  • Deadline to file: May 19, 2026 8 p.m.
  • Candidate must be registered in the stated party by November 20, 2025 (180 days prior to the primary election.)*
  • Candidate will be sent a write-in acceptance form, if elected. If acceptance form is received by deadline, certificate of election will be issued.
  • Nominator and candidate must be a member of the same party and the same State Representative district, within the same county.

*A qualified person who will attain the age of 18 years after the deadline for filing of candidacy and on or before the date of the primary election, and who is registered as a member of the major political party not later than 180 days before the date of the primary election (11/20/2025), is eligible to file a nominating petition for the office of precinct committeeperson.

An otherwise qualified person who becomes a United States citizen during the period beginning 251 days before the date of the primary election and ending on the deadline for filing a declaration of candidacy for the office of precinct committeeperson, and who is registered as a member of the major political party on or before the deadline for filing a declaration of candidacy for the office of precinct committeeperson, is eligible to file a declaration of candidacy for the office of precinct committeeperson, to be listed on the ballot and to be elected to the office, including by write-in votes. (9/10/2025-3/10/2026)

SB 585 amends ORS 249.046 to add: Any candidate for the office of precinct committeeperson who becomes a United States citizen within the period of 180 days.
