Oregon City, OR – Clackamas County Elections mailed ballots for the primary election to eligible voters on Wednesday, April 29. Voters who have not yet received a ballot by mail delivery on May 7 should contact Clackamas County Elections to check on the status of their ballot, make any needed voter registration updates, or request that a replacement ballot be issued.
This is a county-wide election.
Where you live and what party you are affiliated with determines what contests are on your ballot. Your ballot will have a new design. Clackamas County Elections upgraded the ballot tabulation system to improve voter experience and increase ballot processing efficiency. How you mark your ballot will not change. You can view a sample ballot on the Clackamas County Elections website with the new design.
Voters can email elections@clackamas.us, call 503-655-8510, or visit a voter service location in Oregon City or Happy Valley for assistance. Voters can also request a replacement ballot using the online Replacement Ballot Request form at clackamas.us/elections/ballot-request. Replacement ballots can be mailed or picked up at a voter service location.
Voter assistance and replacement ballots are available at two voter service locations. The Happy Valley Vote Center inside the Happy Valley Library and the Oregon City elections office offer voter assistance and replacement ballots for voters in Clackamas County.
Each voter service location is staffed by sworn election officials. Citizens can replace a lost or damaged ballot, update voter registration information, get voting assistance if they have a disability, get voting assistance in a preferred language, return their voted ballot, or vote in person. Voters can choose the location that works best for them.

Make a mistake or change your mind? You can correct your ballot.
If you make a mistake or change your mind while marking your ballot, you can correct it yourself. Cross off the choice you do not want and circle the choice that you do want. Make your choice clear so that your intent is understood, and your vote can be counted. If you are unable to correct your ballot, you can request a replacement ballot.
Rip your ballot return envelope? You can tape your return envelope.
Sometimes mail gets damp here in Oregon. If a return envelope gets wet and self-seals it can be reopened, your ballot inserted and then can be taped shut. You can also tape your return envelope if it is ripped. Neatly tape it closed again and sign again by the tape. If you do not want to tape the return envelope shut, you can also request a replacement ballot with a new return envelope.
Remember to sign your ballot return envelope.
The most important thing is to remember to sign in the signature box on the ballot return envelope. Your ballot cannot be counted if you do not sign the return envelope. Every signature is checked against the registration signature on file. The signatures must match for the ballot to be counted. If you forget to sign or your signature does not match you will be notified so that you can take action to ensure that your vote can be counted.
Ballots must be mailed back with a valid postmark or returned to an official ballot drop site by 8 p.m. on Election Day, May 19, 2026. No postage is needed. We recommend mailing your ballot back no later than Tuesday, May 12 to ensure it arrives on time. Return your ballot to an official ballot drop site after that date.
