The new pilot tool shows location-based site recommendations and driving directions to voters

Oregon City, OR— Clackamas County voters can now use a new online tool that helps voters locate their nearest Official Ballot Drop Box and driving directions in seconds.

Developed with the Partnership for Large Election Jurisdictions (PLEJ) and the University of Rhode Island’s Engineering for Democracy Institute (EDI), the Clackamas County Official Ballot Drop Site Locator Tool is launching as a pilot for the November 3, 2026 General Election to show nearby Official Ballot Drop Box locations on a map based on a voter’s current location. Voters can select a site and open directions in a mapping app on their phone or desktop computer. Clackamas County Clerk and Elections and their partners will assess how the new tool works for voters during this initial phase.

“The new Drop Site Locator Tool provides voters a practical way to return their ballot directly to an Official Ballot Drop Site swiftly and safely,” said County Clerk Catherine McMullen. “This new tool allows voters to see nearby options from wherever they are and then select a site and route that works best for them.”

To use the locator:

  • Visit bit.ly/Clackamas-OR
  • Enter your location or allow location access to see five nearby Official Ballot Drop Sites.
  • Select a site to open driving directions.

Clackamas County voters may visit any of the 26 Official Ballot Drop Sites, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026.

Voters may also sign up for Track Your Ballot to receive email, text, or voice notifications when their ballot is mailed, received, and accepted for counting. The service also notifies voters if they need to address a signature issue, in addition to a mailed letter.
