The Honorable Michael Wetzel, Judge of the Clackamas County Circuit Court sentenced three former Oregon Department of Transportation workers and one of their spouses today on multiple charges stemming from a theft and reselling scheme spanning from approximately 2004 to 2020 that has estimated to cost taxpayers $5-6 million.

The former ODOT employees abused their official positions to purchase equipment using ODOT vendor accounts, created fraudulent invoices, stockpiled the fraudulently purchased equipment and resold the items for personal profit.

Clerk McMullen Certifies November 4, 2025 Special Election

Oregon City, OR – Today, Dec. 1, Clerk Catherine McMullen certified the November 4, 2025 Special Election. Final official election results can be accessed online at clackamas.us/elections.

The final voter turnout is 41.25% with 51,951 voters casting a ballot in the November 4, 2025 Special Election.

OREGON CITY, Or. -- A Hubbard man was sentenced Monday, July 27, in Clackamas County Circuit Court to 215 months in prison for sex crimes involving children.

Malachi Samuel Kercher, 21, had previously pled guilty in three separate cases involving the sexual exploitation of children. A plea agreement resolved three separate cases and resulted in a prison sentence of nearly 18 years. 

The Planner Director decision has been appealed.
The applicant is requesting an alteration of a previous NCU approved on the subject property. The site was previously used concurrently as a metal fabrication business and car, motorcycle, truck, and farm/industrial equipment repair shop. The applicant is requesting approval for an asphalt cutting and coring business. The site will serve as a primary base of operations for the business, with primary work functions occurring off-site. Clients will not be visiting the site, and the applicant will be primarily storing materials, including work trucks, and preparing materials for off-site jobs.
