Rugg Road Landslide Repairs

In early 2021, heavy rains and strong winds toppled trees, causing the slope to collapse next to Rugg Road near the Hideaway Court intersection in the Boring area. A retaining wall will be built at this location. Temporary protective sheeting and plant seeding are in place until permanent repairs are constructed.

Project is in design phase.

The county began the design phase in April 2021. Construction may begin in summer 2021, during daytime hours. Construction is expected to be complete in summer 2021. If permits are not received by July 2021, this project will be constructed in summer 2022.

Traffic impacts

Single-lane closures will be needed during construction. A temporary road closure is anticipated for 3-4 weeks to build the wall.
